The Grand Cru Touring Hub is designed for long distance riding and heavy loads. The sturdy hub shell is our own design. It boasts a large-flange hub with room for four identical and rather large cartridge bearings. We use very high quality Japanese bearings of a common size and relatively easily replaced if they ever do wear out.
The axle is hollow and oversized. The free-hub body is steel for durability. There are three pawls with sturdy springs. The hub fits up to a 10-speed cassette; you can fit a 7-speed cassette by adding a 4.5mm spacer. The VO enclosed-cam quick release skewer is included
A video showing how to disassemble the Grand Cru hub for field servicing without tools can be found here.

Velo Orange High Flange Front Hub
The counterpart to our rear Grand Cru Freewheel Hubs and Grand Cru Touring Hubs: like the rear hubs, our High Flange Front Hub features the same polished and clear anodized finish, chrome plated axle, and high quality Japanese bearings (the same that you might find on a hub that costs twice as much). The hubshell design is a VO original, and the Grand Cru logo is stamped - not laser etched - giving it a more classic yet very durable aesthetic.
The quick release in included. Available in both 32-hole and 36-hole versions.

VO Enterprise Rim, 700C
For years cyclists have lamented the loss of the simple box section rim in a shiny silver polished finish. So Velo Orange has worked with one of the premier rim companies in Taiwan to find a replacement. We researched different widths, shapes, materials, and what was currently on the market. It quickly became apparent that we needed to offer an alloy doublewall rim. Doublewall construction adds a bit of weight as compared to singlewall (or open box) rims, but we feel a classic doublewall box design is far superior in terms of overall strength, load capacity, and impact resistance, particularly with modern aluminum alloys.
The Enterprise rims weigh around 450g. The 22mm outside width and 16.3mm inside width is ideal for tires 25mm - 38mm. ERD is 615mm. We paid a little more for stainless eyelets and a lot more for a high polish non-anodized finish. We kept the graphics down to an absolute minimum; there is a simple VO sticker for identity. The 27 x 1 1/4" PBP rim is offered in 36 hole versions only.
