René Herse Babyshoe Pass Tyres by Compass 650B x 42mm (Tubeless compatible)
The ultimate high performance gravel tyre, this updated version of Compass's most popular 650B tyre is 1.5 mm wider and tubeless-compatible. The new Babyshoe Pass measures a true 42 mm wide on most rims. Mounted tubeless, it’s even more at home on its namesake pass high in the Cascade mountains.
Named after Babyshoe Pass (1330 m/4350 ft) runs between the great volcanoes of Mount St. Helens and Mount Adams in the Cascade Range in Oregon. This long climb on a gravel road provides a “back-door” way from Seattle to Portland,
The Babyshoe Pass TC, which rolls as fast as a racing tyre on paved roads yet floats across the gravel.
Rene Herse tires combine the performance of high-end tubular tires with the convenience of clinchers and the width needed for allroad riding. Our supple casings roll smoothly over surface irregularities. They absorb less energy as they deform with each tire revolution. Rene Herse tyres make your bike feel alive. From the first metres, you will notice the difference.
Rene Herse tires are well-suited for everyday use. The tread pattern interlocks with the road surface for superb cornering grip, whether your roads are wet or dry. The tread is 3 mm thick in the centre to last many miles, but thin and supple on the shoulders where it doesn’t wear. Choose the widest tires your bike can fit for more speed on rough roads, better cornering grip, more comfort and fewer flats. (Wide tires roll over debris that gets hammered into narrower tires.)
Available with Standard and Extralight casings. The Standard casings are an affordable option that also offers extra protection against sidewall cuts on sharp rocks. The Extralight casings take the performance, comfort and feel of your bike to an entirely new level. Once you have a set of Rene Herse tyres, you won’t be able to go back to “normal” tyres!
